Dalang Shao is dean and a professor of the College of Arts, Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics, graduate adviser. He is also one of the vice chairmen of the Zhejiang Photographers Association and the Artistic Photography Institute of Zhejiang. He is one of the second tier talents of the "New Century 151 Talent Project" of Zhejiang Province; a committee member of Teaching Council of College Fine Arts and Art Design Major, Department of Education, Zhejiang Province; a committee member of Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles; and a winner of China's top photography award - the Golden Statue award.
He has been engaged in photography education and photography for more than 30 years. Additionally, he has authored or translated around 20 books on photography, including "High Quality Black & White Photography," "High Quality Landscape Photography," "Introduction to Major Photograph Exhibitions around the World," "Available Light Photography," etc., and 4 albums, which are "China: Land of My Heart," "A Great Chinese Photographer Dalang Shao: Realms Created Beyond Images 1985 - 2018," "The Impression of West Lake," and "One Man's West Lake."
Several hundred of his artworks have been published in famous magazines such as "Chinese Photography," "Chinese Photographers," "LensWork (USA)," "CameraArts (USA)," "ZOOM International (Italy)," "FOTOgraphia (Italy)," "Black + White Photography (United Kingdom)," "Silvershotz (Australia)," and "View (Belgium)."
He has also held personal photo exhibitions at the Bielsko-Biała International Photography Festival in Poland, Lianzhou International Photography Festival, Lishui International Photographic Culture Festival, and Shanghai Epson Imaging Gallery.
